Services

Our services intends to prevent children from reoffending and also to break the cycle of abuse by children who have been victims before.

We are the only organization that provides the service to the child victim of sexual abuse who unfortunately converted into an offender due to different reasons including history of being abused before and lack of access to adequate services.   Incema is the only organization in KwaZulu-Natal with the program designed for Sexually Reactive Children which is inclusive of Intake, assessment case management and therapy.

 Our services intends to prevent children from reoffending and also to break the cycle of abuse by children who have been victims before. We intend to find the history behind the child’s sexual act and respond to the findings thereafter.

This organization intends to deal with the issue of children being involved in sexual act from the root cause while preventing children from reoffending. Incema NPO have introduced “Prevention begins at home campaign” to deal with issues of sexual and gender based violence form the house hold level.

 

Our organization works with different stakeholders to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the services to be rendered.

Reaction Services

This is the services provided by the psycho-social team. Our social workers intervenes as client presents with history of being sexually reactive as indicated above. The child may have committed a sexual act but has no criminal capacity or the child may present with the history of behavior or sexually acting out.

 

The social workers will do intake and assessment, case management and provide therapy to both the child and the family/ care givers.

Prevention Services

Projects facilitators under the administrative team coordinates and facilitate prevention and awareness programs for schools and communities in order to reduce chances of further perpetuation of sexual crimes by children. They also conduct programs that educate communities and educators on the signs and symptoms of abuse as well as their role in supporting abused children and reporting abuse against children.

Support Services

This is where the office provides joint ongoing support services by social workers, facilitators and management to the clients and stakeholders of sexual and gender based violence. This service has men and boys behavioral change program that includes different stakeholders from different disciplines to play a role in shaping the child’s social behavior not to convert into criminal behavior

 

This has capacity building workshops for stakeholders, Child and Youth Care Centers, care givers and parents.

Our Strategy

We work in collaboration and in partnership with different structures and stakeholders within child protection sector, crime prevention and victim support.

Our services are extended to families and communities through one on one interventions as well as group programs and projects.

We ensure continuous evaluation of our projects to assess its impact and review interventions.
